Now we have collected all the data you were so kind to share with us for The Great British Bra Survey, we have some great and interesting results. We would like to thank everyone who entered The Great British Bra Survey and contributed toward it. More than a whopping 2000 of you joined in and shared your bra sizes and bra habit with us, and it has really paid off.
The survey shows that the average UK bra size has grown from a 36C last year to a curvy 36DD, with this year’s results. The data collected also shows that Geordie women are more likely to be a B cup, while women from Wales and the Midlands are an average cup size of a C.
We also found out your favourite colour for your bra. Most of you out there prefer a Black bra above all other colours. The reason you gave for loving the Black numbers so much was that they make you feel sexy and they also keep their colour for longer in the wash. The average woman in the UK has around 8 different bras in her wardrobe, and more than 50% of you like to go without a bra every once in a while.
Not all the information we have is good news though. When exercising a whopping 40% of you do not wear a Sports Bra. While 60% of you admitted to never being fitted for a bra, or can’t remember when their last fitting was. You also claimed that the fit of a bra is the least important factor when buying a bra, with a meager one per cent buying a bra for fit.
What this tell us, is that women are becoming more confident about what they want from their bras. But there is a lot of work to be done on how we look after our bras and breasts. Which means Bras and Honey are going to spend the next year educating our customers on what is best for your boobs, so we can have even more positive results from The Great British Bra Survey next year.
